Vision & Mission

The George Washington University’s Environmental and Energy Management Institute (EEMI) was chartered as a University-wide institute in 2015 to pursue multidisciplinary research, education, and the dissemination of knowledge relevant to the resolution of pressing national and international environmental, energy, and sustainability challenges, including the profound geopolitical, social, and environmental implications of the intertwined issues of climate and energy security.

Vision

Hosted by the GW School of Engineering and Applied Science, the GW Environmental and Energy Management Institute (EEMI) is a center of excellence for multidisciplinary research, education and the dissemination of knowledge relevant to the resolution of pressing national and international environmental, and energy and sustainability challenges via implementation of the rapidly evolving arsenal of environmental and energy management policies and technologies.
 

Mission

The mission of the GW Environmental and Energy Management Institute (EEMI) is to conduct state-of-the-art and highly relevant research, promote graduate studies and other learning opportunities, and undertake service activities pertinent to the application and implementation of national and international approaches to the management of environmental, energy and sustainability challenges facing organizations and communities throughout the Nation and the world.
