Details of the Application Process

During the application process, you will encounter all sorts of new and strange items and it may be difficult to find the correct answer to some questions. As a guide, here are some points to remember: Use this file as a guide while completing the process online

A) To select the program within the application. First select Graduate Program. Next select the school as School of Engineering and Applied Science. Next select Greenhouse Gas Management as the field of study. When asked for concentration, select “Not Applicable.”

B) It is optional to upload (no more than three) letters of recommendation under the "Recommender" section of the application. The applicant can provide contact information for up to three recommenders. After the application is submitted the recommender will receive an email with instructions on how to log into the system and securely upload the letter to the application.

C) It is required to upload a statement of purpose if you want to enter the Certificate Program.

D) It is required to upload transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable) of your existing degrees.

E) It is required to pay a US$ 75 application fee (if you are already enrolled in a degree program, see "Degree Candidates" under “Enrollment Process” for special instructions).

F) Applications are reviewed monthly.  Notification of acceptance into the program will be emailed soon after the decision is made. You must check the “yes” box to accept and attend classes.

G) Soon after admission, you will receive a message to claim your GW NetID. This will allow you to register.

H) Upon acceptance into the program, a registration fee of $35 is due. This fee applies regardless of whether you will be pursuing a graduate degree, the certificate, or simply taking a course as a non-degree student.

Registration

Once accepted, applicants may register for the requested course(s).  After you have completed registration, you will receive an electronic notice of fees due within about two weeks. This is all done electronically.

To find which certificate courses are available in a given semester, go to the schedule of class(es). ” Select “Online Courses.” Select the semester you want. Select “Engr Mgt & Sytems Engineering.” Choose any available class from the four required (EMSE 6290-EMSE 6993).
